Sustainability

Being based on the rugged Pembrokeshire coastline, a love of the ocean is in our blood. We have seen the harmful effects corporations can have on the environment first hand, and knew from the outset that we wanted to do business differently. We know that ‘sustainability’ has become a bit of a buzz word recently, so in an effort to remain transparent, here are a few of the ways we maintain our ethical business practices.

Our Efforts

~ We use 100% plastic FREE packaging and insist that all our suppliers do the same where possible.

~ From the organic cotton in our t-shirts to the cork in our yoga mats, we thoroughly research all of our materials and source them as sustainably as possible.

~ All of our products are made with high quality materials and are designed to stay in use and out of the landfill.

~ We always opt for low carbon shipping options. Materials that can’t be sourced locally arrive by train instead of plane.

Our Products

T-Shirts

Conventionally grown cotton is one of the most pesticide heavy and water intensive crops in the world. All of our t-shirts are made with 100% organic cotton, which we source from growers in Northern India, where the frequent monsoons naturally provide all of the water needed to grow this thirsty crop. Additionally by going organic we have opted out of the use of pesticides which can be highly toxic to aquatic organisms, birds, & mammals (including us humans too).

Waste water produced by dying clothes is another major source of pollution in the clothing industry. Our manufacturers recover and recirculate 95% of the water used in the dying process through reverse osmosis filtering and distillation, resulting in waste water that is clean enough to drink!

Necklaces

All of our necklaces are made with a choice of either Hemp Cord or Stainless Steel Chain:

Stainless Steel - We opted for stainless steel chains for our necklaces because it is a corrosion-resistant metal with a remarkably long lifespan. We are so confident in the durability of our chains that if the shell on your necklace breaks you can send the chain back to us and we will replace it free of charge.

Hemp - Hemp is a wonder plant! It is a rugged crop that requires little to no pesticides or fertilisers to grow successfully. Not only this, but hemp actually returns nutrients back to the soil in which it’s grown. It also requires relatively little land and water to cultivate.

Earrings

Our earrings are made with 100% recycled sterling silver breathing new life into old jewellery, giftware, medical and electronic supplies. Sterling silver is the perfect material for earrings as it is hypoallergenic and will not irritate your skin.

Cork Yoga Mats

Cork is another magical material we discovered in our journey towards sustainability. Grown on the trunks of the cork oak tree, cork can be harvested without damaging the tree’s inner layer of protective bark. Not only is it infinitely renewable, it also makes for the perfect grip on a yoga mat, has antimicrobial properties and is durable and long lasting.

The base of our cork yoga mats is made of 100% natural rubber. Unlike it’s fake synthetic cousin, true rubber is made from a naturally occurring liquid sap called latex that is found in a wide variety of plant species, meaning our yoga mats are produced without the use of petrochemicals!
